The Consultation Process

  • BEFORE

Book your initial consultation, as part of this you will need to complete a questionnaire.

You will receive email confirmation after booking, as well as reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before your consultation - plenty of opportunity to reschedule if need be.

Have an idea/note of your questions and specific topics you want to go over - 60 to 90 minutes sounds like a long time but there is often a lot of ground to cover!

  • DURING

Be prepared to answer a lot of questions! This is an opportunity for me to learn more about you and what you are needing.

There will be time for you to ask questions and clarify things throughout our consult.

We work TOGETHER to make a plan that it is realistic and specific to you.

  • AFTER

You will receive an email outlining our plan and interventions that we discussed during our consult.

Most clients benefit from at least one follow-up, with frequency and number tailored to your needs..

We can check-in via email or WhatsApp between consults to discuss your progress and address any challenges that arise.

FAQs

  • A dietitian is a food and nutrition expert who has met specific educational and professional requirements, including a bachelor’s degree in nutrition (and usually foodservice) and completion of a supervised post-graduate degree (usually a Masters degree in dietetics). Dietitians are trained to provide evidence-based nutrition advice, develop personalised dietary plans, and work in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, and private practice. Dietitians

In contrast, the term nutritionist is less regulated and can refer to anyone with a background in nutrition, ranging from self-taught individuals to those with degrees in related fields. While some nutritionists may have extensive knowledge and experience, they may not have the same formal training or credentials as dietitians. Nutritionists cannot prescribe medications or work in hospitals (whereas dietitians can).

  • From my education and work, I have gained experience in an array of different health conditions and concerns, including Pre/Type 2 Diabetes, fatty liver disease, thyroid conditions, PCOS, hyperlipidaemia, coeliac disease, IBS, weight loss/gain, and more.

If you're not sure whether I am the right practitioner for you, book a free discovery call or fill out the inquiry form and we'll figure it out together!

  • 1:1 Coaching: the most popular service. During the initial consult, we'll discuss your current lifestyle and eating habits, and any challenges you are facing with your health/nutrition. From there, we work together to create your plan to start working towards your goals. Follow-up consults are booked on an as needed basis.

Accountability Plan: this is similar to the 1:1 coaching, however it involves your commitment of 6 sessions to work towards your goals. I am with you every step of the way to hold you accountable and support you through any challenges that arise through our consults and check-ins as and when you need. This works out cheaper compared to booking separate consults (saving of $130).

Nutrition Audit: this service offers an affordable alternative to 1:1 coaching by providing a thorough analysis of your dietary habits and personalised feedback without the ongoing commitment. This service includes a review of your food diary, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, along with actionable recommendations to help you make informed dietary choices and work towards your health and nutrition goals. This service can be used as a "nutrition WOF" to check whether your diet is nutritionally optimal for your lifestyle. As part of the nutrition audit, you can also book in an optional 20 minute consult to discuss your feedback.

The nutrition audit is not suitable if you have a diagnosed eating disorder, or disordered eating habits / negative relationship with food, or IBS - these conditions would require a full assessment with a registered dietitian to fully understand your background and provide the best advice and support for your situation.

  • As a registered dietitian, I focus on empowering clients to understand their nutritional needs rather than providing strict meal plans. Meal plans can limit flexibility and don’t teach sustainable habits for the long term.

Instead, I emphasise education, skill development, and personalised strategies that help clients make informed food choices while enjoying their meals. This approach fosters independence and supports a healthier relationship with food.

As an alternative, I can provide a "meal guide" which allows you to structure your own day of eating with meal and snack examples. However, I am flexible too - if you are after something more structured, we can usually work something out!

  • Most of my consults are online via Zoom.

There is the option of a home consult if you are based in Wellington and nearby suburbs. This incurs an additional travel fee at a flat rate of $20 for each consult.

  • This is dependent on your needs and wants. Typically, clients will require at least a few sessions with me to reach their goals and feel confident going forward on their own.

Some clients are happy with a one-off session, while others prefer ongoing support for longer - everyone is different!

  • Yes, I am available between consults via email, Instagram or WhatsApp messages. This is included as part of all services.

Response times will be within 1-2 business days.

  • For consults

Payment can be made before or after each consult - this can be done online beforehand when booking the consult, or afterwards (an invoice will be emailed to you).

    For the nutrition audit

Following the completion of the nutrition audit form, you will receive your invoice attached to the confirmation email. Once payment is received, you will receive your feedback and recommendations from the audit within 7 business days.
